《POST 88》

To mark the 30th anniversary of the Seoul Olympics, the newly renovated Soma Museum of Art's 2nd building opened and hosted the opening exhibition <Olympic Sculpture Project - Post 88>. This exhibition is about the history of the Olympic Sculpture Park created to commemorate the 1988 Seoul Olympics. It consists of an archive exhibition where you can look at the 30th anniversary of the Seoul Olympics and an exhibition by three artists, Shim Seop Shim, Seungtaek Lee, and Ufan Lee, who participated in the International Outdoor Sculpture Symposium and the International Outdoor Sculpture Invitation Exhibition held as a cultural event during the Seoul Olympics. A special exhibition of Nam June Paik was also held.

Hall 2 and the Outdoor Sculpture Park (Part 2) showcase modern sculpture through 12 artists including Osang Kwon, Deok-young Kim, Mun, Seon-ki Park, Hye-soo Park, Byeong-soo Byeon, Mong-ju Son, Young-ho Yoo, Min-seop Yoon, Jeong-ju Jeong, Seong-myeong Cheon, and Su-ang Choi, as well as the museum's collection. It consisted of exhibitions showing various trends and a special exhibition featuring the participation of five artists, including Kim Seok, Seo Dong-ju, Lee Dong-jae, Lee Sang-won, and Jeong Seung, with the concepts of the Olympics, sports, leisure, and play. In addition, in Exhibition Room 4 of Hall 2, a special exhibition commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Seoul Olympics, “The Glory of the Seoul Olympics, Blossoming in Pyeongchang,” planned by the Seoul Olympic Museum, will be held, allowing you to enjoy a variety of content that converges with sculpture and the Olympics.

서울올림픽 개최 30주년을 맞아 새롭게 단장해 소마미술관 제2관이 문을 열어 개관전으로 <올림픽 조각 프로젝트-Post 88>을 마련했습니다.이번 전시는 1988년 서울올림픽을 기념해 조성된 올림픽조각공원의 역사를 살펴볼 수 있는 아카이브전, 서울올림픽 당시 문화행사로 열렸던 국제야외조각심포지엄 및 국제야외조각초대전에 참여했던 심문섭, 이승택 이우환 작가 3인 전으로 구성되었으며, 서울올림픽 30주년을 기념하는 작품과 소마미술관 소장품으로 꾸며지는 백남준 특별전도 함께 열렸습니다.

2관 및 야외조각공원(2부)은 권오상, 김덕영, 뮌, 박선기, 박혜수, 변경수, 손몽주, 유영 호, 윤민섭, 정정주, 천성명, 최수앙 등 12명 작가와 미술관 소장품을 통해 현대 조각의 다양 한 경향을 보여주는 전시와 함께 올림픽, 스포츠, 레저, 놀이를 컨셉으로 김석, 서동주, 이동 재, 이상원, 정승 등 5명의 작가가 참여한 특별전으로 구성되었습니다. 아울러 2관 4전시실에서는 서울올림픽기념관에서 기획한 서울올림픽 30주년 기념 특별전 “서울올림픽의 영광, 평창에서 꽃 피우다”가 마련되어 조각과 올림픽으로 수렴되는 다양한 컨텐츠를 즐길 수 있습니다.
